AIDS Vancouver is incorporated as the Vancouver AIDS Society and registered as a non-profit organization under the Society Act of British Columbia.

We are a volunteer-led community-based organization guided by the Society's Board of Directors. The Board is responsible to the membership for overseeing policy development and setting the mission and strategic direction within the agency.

In accordance with the Society Act, AIDS Vancouver cannot generate money like a company. We have 28 paid staff working to support clients and volunteers. Our staff are led by our Executive Director, who is hired by the board, reports to the board, and works closely with them.

Membership

Vancouver AIDS Society members participate by electing the board of directors at the society's Annual General Meeting and by participating from time to time in committees established by the Board. Membership in the Society is open to anyone for an annual membership fee of $25. This fee is waived for people living with HIV and active agency volunteers.
