The Grocery programs continues it's partnership with the Vancouver Fruit Tree Project

We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Vancouver Fruit Tree project for this year’s picking season. We look forward to providing our Grocery patrons with the fruit that will be graciously given to the program.

This is a dedicated non-profit group whose volunteers harvest extra fruit from backyard trees and redistribute it to community groups. In the past 14 years they have picked more than 48,000 pounds (that’s over 24 tons!) and redistributed it to community centres, neighbourhood houses, daycares and other community groups.

What I love about this organization is their dedication to the food growing cycle and ensuring that fruit nourishes people, rather than just returning to the earth. Thank you Vancouver Fruit Tree Project, for your support of the Grocery program!
