A Thank You To Our Holiday Grocery Sponsors
A word that is often used when speaking about AIDS Vancouver, and especially around our annual Holiday Grocery, is community. The AIDS Vancouver community of staff, of volunteers, of clients. People who come together in sharing, inclusiveness, and goodwill.
It is all too often too easy to overlook a fourth member of that community; a member whose contributions make our Holiday Grocery possible. A member whose presence is felt year round, through their acts of support and goodwill.
The staff, volunteers, and clients of AIDS Vancouver all extend a very large thank you to all of our Holiday Grocery sponsors. Without you, this event- this opportunity to create that sense of community- would not be possible.
With your support, our Holiday Grocery volunteers broke records this year, with 71 people stepping up to help out. Those 71 individuals put in a combined total of over 300 hours; 300 hours that ensured the smoothest running and most festive Holiday Grocery in all of AIDS Vancouver’s history. 772 bags of food were given out in that one single day; food that you helped provide for those in need.
It may seem like the word “community” gets bandied about a great deal in regards to AIDS Vancouver. If so, it is only because that’s what we are; a community of people and organizations working to make a difference for all those affected by HIV and AIDS. Thank you for being part of that community.
Thank you for your support.
Wishing you all a fantastic holiday,
Fund Development & Communications Coordinator
