Question:

Hello,

I have had tests after 15.5 days after my last sex with a women. I used condom for vaginal sex. I did not use for oral sex.

Here is my test result text. I am not sure it has checked both antigens and antibodies.

HIV COMBO(P24) MEIA       0.09

Please share your comments. I know I should wait 28 days for a new test but it is really difficult to wait.
Should I worry? How much should I worry?

Question:

HI all the experts here, just wanted to know the accuracy of an antigen test is it reliable or not. I have tested on 19 days - 20 days after a possible exposure (unprotected vaginal sex) and I'm a male.

Just wanted to check it out that, i know the window period of antibody is 4 weeks - 3 months, so how about the Antigen test?

I have tested the on both antigen and antibody by around 19 days - 20 days possible exposure, does the Antigen test result can be reliable? What is the window period for antigen test?? around 20 days is it good enough?

Question:

I tested 3 weeks after low risk encounter. I did not check the condom though and now am stressed out. The test came back negative for p24 antigen and antibodies. I am now at the 6 weeks mark and have experienced no symptoms such as fever, rash, etc. TOday i noticed a discoloration on the inside of my upper lip, a purple patch, but i hope this is due to chewing tabbacco which i officially quit today!
i plan on taking a duo test tomorrow.
Question: at 3 weeks, should antigens be detectable? And if not, shouldnt antibodies be detectable?

Question:

Hi guys
I had sex with a gay during which I was the top. I used double condom in the same time. As I remember condoms did not break. After 29 days I did the 4th generation test ( HIV combo test ) and it came back negative. But Iam still worry.
My questions are:
1) what do you think of the combo test I did. Is it a good indicator or not?
2) I have read In British HIV Association (BHIVA) that combo test is conclusive at 4 weeks. What do you think?
3) what are my chances that I didn't catch HIV?
4) what is the advice you can offer to me in this situation?
5) if you were in my shoes what will you do?
Thank you very much I appreciate the effort you make guys.

Question:

Hello,

Is it possible to have HIV or AIDS yet continue to have negative antibody tests? My Elisa lab test was at  28 days but the clinic insti rapid tests were at 115 days, 155 days and 313 days. Everything was negative .

I know that three months is considered conclusive but I continue to present symptoms..

Does 99.6% mean that 4 out of 1000 will be false negative? I fear I am one of those four.I have  no pre existing conditions that I am aware of. I want to give blood again but am afraid to.

Frustration city

Question:

Hi .. 6 years ago i was in highly risky exposure with a house maid from Indonesia .. unprotected anal and vaginal.
I didnt have any test until last year when I started having strange symptoms
I was diagnosed with chronic Gastritis at first.
lost 10 kg of my weight and started having fevers.burning joints.and fatigue .. With constant diarrhae thats when i suspected Hiv.
So i decided to have tests .. i did combo hiv1,2 ag ab and the result was Negative
Elisa test ab Negative
Pcr hiv1 Also negative
and one more combi-duo test was Negative.
My problem is that i still have some symptoms (fatigue-joint burning-mouth burning-beard hair rash) with elevated esr and what seems to be decreasing Wbc (4.1 last time i checked.)
I really need help here .. should i continue investegating Hiv or not ?
Was my tests relible after six years of exposure?

Thanx alot.

Question:

Hi,

I had a following exposure a Month ago:

With a CSW, I did not do a penile-vaginal intercourse.

I did dry humping though. On her stomach and on and around her Vagina.

Throughout the Dry Humping, I was wearing a Condom and an Underwear. She was completely naked.

I have asked this before and have got a reply from you that the encounter is not a risky one and has low chances of transmission of HIV.

Still because of super anxiety, I went in for an HIV Test:

4th Gen DUO Test: 3rd Day: Non Reactive

4th Gen DUO Test: 19th Day: Non Reactive HIV 1 RNA Quantification Test (Cobas Ampliprep and Cobas Taqman): Below 20 copies/mL The Range of Detection of this test is: 20 Copies/mL

Is it fine that the result above is Below 20 copies/mL ?

I faced Night Sweats for 2-3 nights but no other symptoms. Is the RNA Test on Day 26 proper ?

Below 20 copies/mL means it is negative, right ?

I asked the Lab, they said it is Negative ! But I want to re confirm !

Also, I will test at the 84 day mark but I am worries a lot because of the above !
