On August 2012 i had sex with a sex worker.Five weeks after that i had a lot of symptoms;fever, white tongue, loss of appetite, night sweating, red scrotum, joint pain, flu, dry cough.I got so scared and 6 weeks after spousal exposure i got a HIV antibody(combo-4th generation)test which was negative.I repeated same test at 12,14 weeks and 6 months and i got the same result-Negative.Now 8 months later i think all day-night long about the fact that i had the symptoms and the fact why those symptoms happened at 5 weeks after...i don't think about the result.what do u think can i move on in my life.Am i HIV negative or i need to retest.Thnx so much.
I want to know why some websites like cdc.gov, thebody.com and much more says the window period is from 3 to 6 months, after an exposure you have to be tested at 3 and 6 months? I took test at 6,12, 13 and 15 weeks after a possible exposure and was negative all (3 and 4 generation tests). Do I need another test at 6 months? If is yes the answer, the test could be at 24 weeks or 6 months exactly?
I had unprotected vaginal sex on 25 Nov 2012.Three days after i had very high temperature 39,7 C, and very sore throat. After antibiotic healing, a got better after 3, 4 days.On 20 Feb 2013(87 days), i tested negative 4th Gen Elisa. But the day before that i was treated with one injection of Corticosteroid. Is it possible to give false negative result because of that.On 25 march(20 days after my possible exposure), i tested negative with rapid SD BIOLINE HIV 1/2 3.0, but after i read something that W.H.O, said that they give unsatisfactory results.I will be glad to receive your opinion about my symptoms, corticosteroid , and tests that i made.
I had an exposure of receiving unprotected oral sex and protected vaginal penetration ( not exactly proper sex ) for 2 times. I have no specific symptoms except slight temperatures at times and a general feeling of fatigue. Since then I have taken the following tests :
1.) Rapid tests at two days exposure : negative although its completely inconclusive
2.) HIV ag/ab combo at 7.5 days exposure : negative with index value 0.13
3.) HIV ag/ab combo at 13.5 days exposure : negative with index value 0.72 My questions are :
1.) What risk do I have of getting HIV ?
2.) Is any of this tests conclusive ?
3.) Why is there a rise in Index value from 0.13 to 0.72 ?
I am writing now while I am in the worst ... I cannot handle it anymore, I am weak, very weak, please give me answers.
7 weeks ago I had sex with a sex worker, don't know her status. I used a condom during intercourse and it did not break and remained during the entire intercourse which lasted for 2 minutes and was only vaginal. On day 21 I had the courage to go for a test, duo test which was negative. On day 28 I still had the courage and went for a second test, duo test, negative.
I relaxed for only 3 days after the second test. But now and after that much time I am out of my mind. I don't eat, go to university, neither sleep.
To be honest, the worst thing is that I always thought condoms are safe. But here you say condoms are a low risk !!! Putting the word "low" before risk does not help! Since it is still a risk! Do you guys mean that HIV can be transmitted by protected sex if the condom does not break?
Also I have this symptom that I found all around the HIV forums: numbness in the feet and hands !!! I cannot believe it, everyone is talking about protected sex when it actually does not protect? Why !!!
Stress really has killed me. And I now cannot go for another test ... This was my only sex act in my life, and now I am infected! Because "protected sex" did not protect me ...
