HCV / HIV Coinfection
Hi, i was a tourist in Vancouver in January and came to Vancouver and got a tattoo from a well known tattoo parlor in Downtown Vancouver.
After getting the tattoo (on my right arm) i developed a very bad flu with fever and and had swollen lymph nodes in my groin. I did a HIV rapid antibody test using oraquick at e government approved clinic in my country but that was done at 49 days post exposure.
I understand that the parlor maintained strict measures but i did not see the tattooist take out brand new needles as i was filling up the necessary paperwork. And i have never ever recovered from that flu i developed. I am only fine for 3-4 days then i get flu again, i lost weight as well and suffer from night sweats as well. I am healthy male and had never even had flu for a couple of years.
So, how many percent accurate is a oraquick test done at 7 weeks ( 49 days ) and have there ever been any documented cases of HIV through tattooing at any licensed parlors in Vancouver? also, i have numerous tattoos all over my body but this was the first time i had ever fallen sick after getting one. Pls advise!
Hi, I have a question regarding the validity of my Hepatitis C antibody test.
My sexual exposure was with a sex worker and it was receiving oral sex, kissing, and fingering the vagina. I took an antibody test at 14 weeks/101 days and it came back negative. Is this conclusive/definitive/reliable?
I've been having bad headaches. Can I eliminate Hep C as a cause?

immune to hepatitis b.
hiv okay, but it scares me to hepatitis c. Blood levels of SGOT, SPOT, normal.
What are the chances I have hepatitis c.
can i rely on my syphilis test of 2 months? is syphilis similar to the HIV test where if i am negative at 2 months it is unlikely that my status would change?? Also, can syphilis be transmitted through sharing razor blades one person after the other?
Hello Moderators,
due to religious reasons I had done blood cupping from a person,t who says that he is expert on this in canda and usa.he did blood cupping four times to me .he say that they cut with fresh blade the upper skin and put a clean cup to suck the blood.the last time another person did the same and he washed my cup after sucking blood and the tissue he used drop down in the dustbin and he used the same tissue again to wipe my cup and did blood suction again two times.
I t is not sure that somebody tissue paper is infected in the dustbin.
what are my chances to get hiv, hepatitis b and c in tis case.
Ihave done the test after one month and it was negative.
how long i should wait further for these tests so that i can think free from these disesaes.
Is there any specific date after I think there is no infection.
Hello, I have engaged in unprotected anal and vaginal sex 3 months ago. I have been tested 4 times for HIV, the last one is 12 weeks later the encounter. All results were negative. Now some web-sites argue that simultaneous infection of HIV and HCV might delay the seroconversion of HIV so one needs to be tested at 6 months. However, some say there is no relation between HCV and HIV, so 3 months is more than enough for HIV.
I have not been tested for HCV and now I am so scared that the 3 months for HIV is not sufficient.
Please, may I kindly ask you to give me an explanation with reasons instead of no/yes answer as I need to clarify this issue which is killing me.
Thank you indeed

I have a question and I think I know the answer to it but I need some reassurance. If one touches quite a bit of blood that has been outside the body for approximately 2 hours and then touches their eyes or cuts in the mouth accidently, would transmission be possible? The blood is beginning to dry but is still slightly wet. Is it right to assume that the HIV virus would be dead by this time? Eventhough it is not dried? If the blood was dried, would transmission be possible? Thanks for your time!
