Question:

So, embarrased but here is my story. Was at a strip joint, and the stripper offered me a "VIP" dance in the back. So, out came at $20 bill and off we went. Long story short, she was very friendly and she put her boob in my mouth. Song over, take my money goodbye. This was in April 2011. In April 2012 I heard about Breast Milk and HIV so I panicked and went in for HIV Point Of Care Testing (Rapid test). They took blood from my finger and came back 10 minutes later and said I was non-reactive. Then in December 2012, I was still anxious and got tested 4 more times in 30 days, thinking what if she read it wrong, or used the wrong test, or did not do it correct etc. All in between this I have had no other exposures. So from last date of exposure, I got test at 1 year and 10 days later, and 4 more times 1 year and 8 months later, and each receipt they gave me says Non reactive from Peel Region. Do I need to get tested anymore or is this 100% conclusive? Please help my anxiety

Question:

Hello,

Is it possible to have HIV or AIDS yet continue to have negative antibody tests? My Elisa lab test was at  28 days but the clinic insti rapid tests were at 115 days, 155 days and 313 days. Everything was negative .

I know that three months is considered conclusive but I continue to present symptoms..

Does 99.6% mean that 4 out of 1000 will be false negative? I fear I am one of those four.I have  no pre existing conditions that I am aware of. I want to give blood again but am afraid to.

Frustration city

Question:

OK so quick question I just took the OraQuick at Home HIV test and it came back negative. The last time I was exposed to the infection was 5 months ago but I'm still quite worried that it might have been false negative..... I also want to add that I have OCD which could also be causing my doubt but still I would like some advise on if it was accurate or not?

Question:

Hello,
I notice there are many people writing who are testing negative several times outside the window with the rapid test but continue to present symptoms sonI decided to write in. The standard answer is that WHO CONSIDERS three months or later to be conclusive and definite. How sure is "CONSIDERS?"
I have never read anyone saying that the rapid test actually detected an infection and asking for help.
I am another one of those people rapid testing at 5,6 and almost 11 months as well as lab test at four weeks but presenting many symptoms, neuropathy, autonomic dysfunction, sore mouth and tongue to name just a few. No risky encounters since Jan last year and even that was negligible  ,brief insertive oral.
The nurse said she works  full time at the HIV clinic , testing, but has never had a positive case so I am wondering if this rapid test actually works. Apparently there were over 100 new cases diagnosed somewhere in this province. There is only one POC clinic available. I know there is more than one nurse there but the one said she pretty sure some positives had been detected.
I do not mean to be critical and you people do a great job, reassuring people.
I have also read to follow up with other health care professionals to find out the problem. I have had over 40 Dr visits, including GPS and specialists. I also tested for sti's two or three times. I have been getting psychiatric help because they say it is guilt and anxiety.
In conclusion, I would like to know where and if this insti rapid test is detecting the virus in anyone. If it is as claimed 99.6% effective  and there is an HIV problem as stated.  Please give me some hard data on this.
So how would someone know they were infected but the test was not working? Where do you turn? What different tests would be used if any.
Inquisitive
