I have just completed testing after 179 days from last possible exposure. My test results were Negative, however I still continue to have symptoms, muscle fatigue, patch of yellow/white on the back of tongue, sinus issues. The test I had was a Clearview Complete rapid HIV 1/2 test. What bothers me is that there is these known rare strains but no test has been confirmed to detect them, strain N, O and P. I know that these strains are very rare but still have a possibility of infecting people. Is there a test that I can take to confirm that I don’t have some rare HIV strain?
Thank you!
Hello,
I have had a negative hiv lab test at four weeks and three negative poc Insti Rapid tests at 16, 20 and 41 weeks. Yet I continue to present a myriad of symptoms like periphereal neuropathy and skin conditions. Should I try to get another tab test because the rapid test is not sensitive enough? I have been battling this issue for over a year.
Thanks!
Ok here goes...
I gave head to a man, and he came in my mouth and i swallowed almost immediately... From what i could read is that this poses no threat what so ever concerning HIV doubled with the fact that since HIV appeared in the 80's there have been 166 cases of HIV in my country out of which 66 people are now deceased, so that leaves to about 100 official positive cases so i guess statistically i am out of the forest...
BUT the little evil gnomes in my head started working overtime and I have a few questions to ask :)
The man that I blowed is of unknown HIV status, he said he is negative but for the sake of argument lets say he is positive.
1 - At the time of the encounter and many many years before I have had a white geography tongue, lets say it's oral thrush, maybe it isn't and could be due to the fact I am a smoker. Does that factor in the possibility that I could catch the little bugger?
2 - A few days after the encounter i noticed a little, very little growth on my tongue, painless and bloodless, but it was there poking me in the eye. Could it be that, you know :)
3 - I have an incredible un-rational or perhaps rational fear of dentists, it's like a phobia or something, so as a result to that i have several rotten teeth in my mouth that I have refused to fix over the years, there are 2 completely abscessed but they are bloodless, i have never noticed any blood coming out of them.
4 - Coinfection, I've been reading about that on the internet but couldn't quite understand it, could it be that my little growth on my tongue is say a painless syphilis thing and what are the chances i catch the bugger in that situation?
5 - I called a testing clinic and I am going there next week which should be about 6 weeks after the encounter, how accurate would a result be after 6 weeks with a rapid blood test. The nice lady that works there said the results are given in 10 mins, so that gives some input i hope on the type of test they will do. She said it's the newest kind or something.
Thank you very much :)
In December of 2006, I had a protected sex with a sex worker. After about 4-5 weeks of this incident, I found I have swollen lymph nodes on my neck. Because of this, I took a rapid test at 10 weeks and 12 weeks, both are negative. I also took a traditional blood test at 13 weeks, negative too. After that incident, I have not had sex with others except my wife. In order to make sure my status, I again took a rapid test in 2012 and blood test last week, both are negative. Up to now, I am not sure whether I should move on as my swollen lymph nodes are still with me over 6 years.
Is there any case that an infected person cannot be test positive over 5-6 years? Would the number of antibody be decreased by some reasons over a period of time? so that standard antibody test cannot detect.
hello AIDS Vancover
I am male.. I have an encounter before 1 year and 4 months and I show a lot of symptoms which last 6 months from this sexual contact my contact was protected vaginal sex and not protected oral sex.
I test with hiv 1 and 2 + p24 eclia method by company Roch test and it was negative.
Does my negative combi test after 1 year and 4 months are conclusive?
Does my test include all type and subtype?
I still have a concern.
Thank you.
I started a relationship with this girl. At 22 days after we started she had an HIV/STD that came back negative. Seven weeks post our last exposure (unprotected oral sex) I had a DUO that came back negative. Since that moment we haven't had any exposures due to my anxiety that is getting me literally sick. Can I rely that we're both negative? She has been the only one I've been with. According to my aunt (she's a doctor) I shouldn't be worrying because of her test and mine that is very precise (she said if I was infected, my test will show up two or one positive by 7 weeks). I have a swollen (under the skin) lymph node. My next question I don't know if it can be answered by you but I'll really appreciate it. Is anxiety really capable of weak a lot the immune system?
1. Sir, I am 28 years old and two months before I had a physical relationship with my neighbor. Since, she is a house wife , we did not use any precautions except first time. But, two days after our second physical contact, I got a heavy fever for two days. Followed to this, I got a heavy stomach pain and diarrhea on the next day onwards. For these reasons, I was hospitalized for one week, though nothing has detected in the ultrasound scan too. After one week, I felt well and continue my routine works. Again we continued our physical relation upto middle of Apr 2013. In between, I had noticed that my partner was frequently suffering from heavy fever and headache and I avoided this in the initial stage. Also, I have been suffering from yeast infection on the head of my penis.
2. Earlier my cholesterol level was too high ie. 260. For this reason, I have been regularly working out. Last week I went to nearby Diagnosis Centre for my blood checking. At that time, I have done my Cholesterol, Sugar and HIV test. Unfortunately, I got shocked when I saw my HIV status. The HIV status obtained from reputed Laboratory is as under :-
Test Result Units
HIV Antibody 0.07
Sample Type : Serum
Interpretation :-
A result of >= 1.00 indicates a reactive sample and possible presence of Anti-HIV 1+2 A result <0.90 indicates a non-reactive sample.
A result of >= 0.90 and <1.00 indicates a borderline sample
Note : It is a screening test and needs to be confirmed by a confirmatory test as per legislation.
The result should be used and interpreted only in the context of the overall clinical picture.
****** end of report********
3. Now I am mentally depressed and I cant concentrate on my duties properly. Nowadays, I am always thinking to end my life. Am I an HIV positive person? Couldn't be continue a normal life? I am an unmarried person and now I have decided not to marry a girl in the entire life. I am working in a Central Govt office and frequent medical check will be carried out by the organization itself. Because of this, the matter will spread among my colleagues and that may be more painful. But, I couldn't face any one due to my guilty feeling. Please advise me that what to do. Can I be HIV negative person (non reactive), if I will take a better treatment in the initial stage? If it is possible, where can I get better and successful treatment in India? Please help me.

Hi would having you intestines taken out due to a medical condtion affect hiv results??? I heard that most of the bodies immnue response is in the gut (link below)
http://www.doctorschierling.com/1/post/2011/10/80-of-your-bodys-immune-s...
I tested neagtive at 3 months however i am worried beause of this. I am worried about my body's immnue repsonse to hiv antibodies as i have Ulcerative Colitis which developed after my exposure. Please tell me how antibodies develop and if having this would affect hiv results.
Its the 80% of the immnue response part in the atrcile which is really worring me. plaese tell me what i should do thank you xx
