We're continually working on improving and making changes to
our website. As we make these changes, your feedback is crucial.
One major addition to our website we are considering right
now is putting AIDS Vancouver’s Helpline online. The Helpline Online would work
like a web forum:
- Anyone could ask a question that would be posted for the
public (anonymously, of course).
- For each question, our Helpline Volunteers
would research the answers, just like they already do for people who phone us.
- The difference is the question and answer would be available online for
everyone to see.
- PLUS, people who ask questions won’t even need to provide an
email address or phone number, maintaining complete anonymity.
Why do we think we should put the Helpline Online? Our
reasons are:
- We’ve seen it work in other major centres.
- Nobody else in Vancouver is doing a
general HIV/AIDS online question forum. As a leader in HIV/AIDS prevention, awareness
and support, we think it’s our job to create such a forum.
- It's a top search term used in Google for people looking for our website. We think that means people want it, but we want to be sure.
Never mind our reasons. What do you think? Should AIDS
Vancouver have a Helpline Online? We’re taking a poll right now to see what you think.
