The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and Out in Harmony, Vancouver’s own LGBT choir were both in attendance, as well as headline speaker Dr. Julio Montaner.
Free Hugs Day
Started as a way to pass on the message “You can’t get AIDS from a hug”, Free Hugs Day on December 1, 2012, World AIDS Day, was a big hit, both with AIDS Vancouver staff and volunteers (among them, the Honourable Hedy Fry), and with the general public. Hugs, red ribbon pins and AIDS Vancouver Helpline cards were all given out, with the love of the community coming right back in.
