Gay guys making things happen for our community.
Gayway is a gay men's resource exchange that builds flourishing communities by providing supportive environments. Gayway encourages gay men to share knowledge, experience and resources.
We call it a "resource exchange" because Gayway helps facilitate the exchange of information, support, experience and friendship amongst gay men living in Vancouver.
You've probably heard that gay men are more likely to abuse alcohol or do drugs. Gay men are supposedly lonely... we still struggle with HIV and AIDS... we have body image problems and low self-esteem... blah blah blah. You know the story. Pretty depressing, isn't it?
Well, the guys at Gayway don't think these "deficits" are the place to start when adressing gay men's health. We're a place where health and happiness matter — we focus on the strengths that our community has and the resources that each and every one of us brings to Gayway.
Of course gay men have challenges, but who doesn't? We just don't think our challenges are the place to start or the place to get 'stuck'. We also believe that gay men are good at facing their particular struggles and that a flourishing community is the key to success and well-being.
