came non reactive.

what is the accuracy of this test ?

do i need further testing ?

Answer:

Hi there and thank you for using AIDSVancouver as your source for HIV/AIDS related information.

An ECLIA Ag/Ab HIV 1+2 test is a "Combo" test that looks for both antibodies and P24 protein antigens. Most HIV specialists consider this test conclusive at 6 weeks. However, since it has not been updated for a while, official HIV testing guidelines still recommend re-testing at 12 weeks for completely conclusive results.

Again, the "Combo" test is considered conclusive at 6 weeks and no further testing should be required. Your Combo test is very sensitive to a small amount of HIV-antibodies and P24 protein antigens, and hence the test result is accurate at the first couple of weeks. Having said that, your test result at 25 weeks (pass the international guidelines of 12 weeks of window period) is conclusive. No further testing is necessary.

We encourage everyone to practice safe sex. After knowing your negative status, it is healthy to do further protection against any possible exposure.
I hope I have addressed your concerns. But if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again!
