Hi there and thank you for using AIDS Vancouver for your source of information.
1. Protected vaginal sex is considered a low risk activity in terms of HIV transmission. There have been a few reports of transmission through this method but they are usually under certain identifiable conditions. The window period for rapid testing is between 4 weeks to 3 months, with any result obtained after 3 months to be considered conclusive and definite. If you have not engaged in any high risk exposure activity during the time of the window period for testing, then you do not have to worry about getting tested again, and a negative result at 13 weeks after exposure is conclusive and definite, no more testing is required.
2. Non-insertive masturbation is considered a no risk activity for HIV transmission.
3. Unprotected hand jobs are also considered no risk for HIV transmission.
If you have never been tested before and you are sexually active, I would recommend that you get tested regularly for all STI's (including HIV) just to be sure of your status. While getting testing can be stressful, it is really the only way to know for sure what your status is. It is great that you are asking questions and finding out more about your sexual health & I hope this answers your questions. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Take care,
Wendy

Question:
Please can you tell me the risk and if any further testing is required..
1, protected vaginal sex .Had 2 rapid tests more than 13 weeks after this that came back negative.
2, during the 13 - 14 weeks I engaged in a grinding type action with a woman where she rubbed her backside on my penis while masturbating me at the same time. this was unprotected but there was no insertion
3, unprotected hand jobs
If you can provide information on if these situations are risky and require another test or would they be no risk and can trust the negative results of the tests already taken?
