Peer Engagement Centre

Our staff and volunteers will guide you and help you find the resources you will need.

Are you:

  • Doing a public presentation on HIV for school?
  • The friend of someone HIV positive and want to learn more about the illness?
  • HIV positive and wondering about side effects of your treatment?
  • A nurse or community worker wanting to provide better care to your HIV positive patients?

In person or online, we’re here to help!

When is the Peer Engagement Centre open?

We are open Tuesday to Friday, 9am-4pm. You don't need an appointment to visit us, but we recommend that you call if you are doing research on a specific subject and need help to find resources. This will allow us to give you a complete list of resources precisely adapted to your needs.

What do we offer?

The Peer Engagement Centre offers access to internet for client and public use in the area of research related to HIV/AIDS.  The space also houses a broad variety of pamphlets, fact sheets and informational materials related to sexual health, and offers information on other services available in the Vancouver area and nationally.

We also have a small reference library available for browsing or research within the space.  Want to take a particular article or piece of information home with you?  Just ask our staff or volunteers to make a copy of the information you need!

The Community Resource Centre also has print copies of the information found on our HIV in-depth page.

The Centre also plays host to the CATIE WRIP (Waiting Room Information Program) and can help clients access detailed information related to the health of Persons living with HIV/AIDS.
