The Financial Assistance Fund offers financial assistance to people with HIV/AIDS living with fixed incomes or low wage jobs with:
- upfront expenses that facilitate financial stability and independence
- urgent, one-time financial needs
The Financial Assistance Fund provides concrete assistance that supports financial stability. Financial Assistance Fund is available after other resources, such as those provided by the Ministry, are exhausted.
In many cases, the Financial Assistance Fund subsidizes the cost of more expensive items like a bus pass, with clients and AIDS Vancouver contributing to cover the cost. The Financial Assistance Fund supports clients to:
- replace lost or stolen ID
- make damage deposits or cover moving costs
- pay rent or utilities bills in the case of lost income
- purchase bus passes
- get medication
AIDS Vancouver Case Managers are available to complete an application for the Financial Assistance Fund. This program is available to AIDS Vancouver clients and Indigenous people living with HIV in the Lower Mainland.
