In 1983, AIDS Vancouver was started by a group of volunteers. Today, our volunteers enrich the team and share their unique experiences and skills!

Ongoing volunteer opportunities are available via VolunteerConnector. Volunteer positions include welcoming clients in our Resource Centre and supporting our grocery program with stocking our grocery and welcoming clients.

One-time volunteer opportunities are available in December. Please sign up below:

Holiday Grocery program, December 5 - 14

  • On December 13, over 500 people come to AIDS Vancouver to pick up holiday groceries! Volunteers help us make this day a success by greeting and welcoming clients in line, contributing to a festive atmosphere, serving snacks, and helping clients carry their groceries. Sign up now.
  • In the lead up to December 13, volunteers are needed to help us stock the shelves and assemble grocery bags for pick up. Sign up now.

In Our Day Community Gathering December 4

  • This community gathering is to honour and recognize those who lived and died through the first 15 years of the HIV pandemic across British Columbia. It centres around a special viewing of In My Day*, a play based on the interviews collected from a community-based research project with 180 people living with HIV and their caregivers from the earliest days of the epidemic.
  • Volunteer roles include: setting up and serving lunch and refreshments, supporting presenters and guests, hosting coat check, and supporting registration. Sign up now.
